Grandparents did not come visit me cause they got mad at my brother (who it seems didn't actually do anything wrong, which is different) and just high-tailed it back to Missouri. I get it, kind of, since I was out of town and they didn't want to just hang out for two days waiting for me to get back...but still pretty upset that they drove all the way out here and didn't stop by. I was already pissed that they were spending a few days with my brother but could only pencil me in for a dinner.
My friend is pretty into astrology and was commenting on a few things that were kind of creepy about me being a cancer. I don't read into a lot of that stuff, but sometimes it is really interesting. So now I need to do an entire birth chart because if my moon sign is indeed what she thinks it is, I'll be a little more creeped out.
I had to turn down a guy who was just seriously not getting any of my subtle hints about not being interested. I know guys sometimes have egos and don't recognize that they have no chance with me. This guy is just super clueless. And I felt bad for a bit because he was obviously disappointed when I finally said we were not going to be anything but friends. But really, dude, you're 30+ years old...how do you not know how women work? And how does "Well my boyfriend wouldn't think too kindly on that" really not translate?
I got tickets to Brewgrass! I missed ticket sales by being out in nature somewhere, and they sell out in like 15 minutes. My friend managed to get tickets, but asked someone else...but that person can't go, so I'm in. Super excited. Going to take off 2 days so we can enjoy a little bit of Asheville wilderness. Just have to decide whether to hike or rock climb. And I have to figure out how to make a certain person jealous cause he's not going. hehe.
Work ramped up for a second but it quiet again. The Government is trying to not release any RFPs until a budget is passed. Which makes total sense. But it also means everything's going to hit at the same time and I may not have a life in October...which is awful since it's my favorite month.
Went to see Rob and Jamie for pre-baby fun. They loaded me up with garden/farm goodies. Then I made a lot of stuff, most time-consuming was tomato sauce and peach preserves. So many hours in the kitchen! But yummy, fresh food all week. Also, their puppy tried to eat me, I was cornered by a turkey, and a heron dive bombed the swimming pool. Next time I see them there will be a baby! So excited!
