BS
So, part of my new project at work is called Building Stamina... aka BS. So I'm constantly typing C1BS (chapter 1 BS). Or saying "BS" in meetings. I think that there must be something else we could call this section of the test so that I don't think "bull shit" all day long.

Bahama Breeze
So we went to Bahama Breeze tonight for a friend's birthday. Let's just say I was unimpressed. The cool fire would have been nice had it not been so freaking hot.
I'm really tired now and don't want to go to work tomorrow.
Oh, and I am not pregnant. Not that this was a concern or real possibility, but everyone else is, or was pretending to be for April Fools. So I just wanted to set the record straight, in case anyone was confused. Seriously, I think 3 people told me they were pregnant as a joke today. It was weird.

more about opening day
You would think I would just add this to my other post, but ya know, it's just a multiple post kind of day.
Anyway, the Cards game was postponed due to rain. That's how we roll in the Lou.
And the Orioles lost. But in happier news, the Cubs apparently lost too. Woo! In case you didn't know, St. Louis and Chicago have a bit of a rivalry.
Ok, I feel I have adequately covered baseball for today.

Happy Opening Day!

To all my fellow baseball fans, it is opening day! For the Orioles anyway, and my dearly beloved Cardinals. I don't know if every team has their opening day, today. But anyway...
I've never actually been to an opening day game. At least that I can remember. This, I feel, is something that needs to be remedied. Obviously not gonna happen this year as I am sitting here at the computer and not at a game. And I think I will have to make it a trip to STL for that, because they are the team that's really worth it. Now, I'm not saying that if someone gives me tickets for another team I'm gonna say no. I'll probably say yes. But if I specifically make opening day plans, it will be for the Cardinals.
I've been told many times that I don't seem like the baseball kind of girl. And maybe I don't. I don't play at all. It's merely an obsession with the Cardinals, which developed into a love of baseball in general because I am not always in a place where the Cards are on TV/playing live/I have access to any information at all.
I blame my father for this, as it was his idea to take me to my first Cardinals game when I was 2(or maybe it was 4) weeks old. I don't really like having this connection, as he is no longer in my life, but nonetheless I love my Cardinals.
I even wrote my senior thesis in undergrad about baseball. "Bimbos, Gold diggers, and Whores: The Women of Baseball Literature." It was a bit more academic than it sounds, but still funny. and amazingly awesome.
Right now, the Cardinals game is delayed because of rain. By boys are ahead 5-1, but are now sitting around doing nothing. They better let them continue. Oddly, they are playing Colorado. Not really a team I am invested in, but I love the state. And maybe, had I lived there longer, I would have started loving them more. Some day.
Ok, that's all I have. I must go work on my novel homework.
Go Cardinals!
(and Orioles!)

Anyone else write about Ireland?
Um, cause, if you do, you should let me know. Poetry, fiction, whatever. As long as it's about Ireland. Maybe I'll publish you in my online magazine that I'm doing for class.
Don't you love how informal my request for submissions is?! Trust me, there's a better one out there on craigslist. But I figured I should open it up to the class as well.
Go Ireland!

Spring classes shouldn't exisit...
Have you ever noticed how awful the Spring semester is. Just when it starts to get warm, the workload increases. You finally want to be outside doing things like smelling flowers and climbing trees but you are stuck inside basically tied to a computer or a book or a very large stack of pages to be revised. And the warm weather just makes it so hard to concentrate on anything.
For example, this weekend I had all kind of regular work plus a presentation, various pieces of work to get ahead on, and I had to finish up my next chapters for novel workshop. Now, part of this is my fault because I won't be in town next weekend so I had to get some work done now. So I missed out on quite a bit of nice weather because I had to be inside studying. Work is slowly increasing as the end of the semester nears. Soon I will be revising alone in my office with the windows open hoping that this small bit of fresh air will keep me going.
Of course, the warm weather is all the more incentive to get things done in a more timely fashion, so that I could go outside and enjoy it. And the faster I work, the faster summer comes and then I really will be able to enjoy the greatness that is warm weather.
And ya know, if it were currently the winter semester, I would be complaining that when you spend all your energy staying warm, it's hard to focus on school work. So really, I just don't like the second half of any semester. And come September, I will be ready to be back in school. I am full of contradictions.
