This has been one of the worst weeks of my life. No joke. But that's a story for another day...after I can decompress some. For now, the fun times happening in Missouri.
Home for a few days and I decide I finally have time to just sit back and relax. So I'm goofing off on the computer, kind of trying to decide if I should go out and grab some beer before I have to be somewhere, but not wanting to leave he warm house. Then...super loud crash!
I look out the window quickly and see one car up on the curb of the neighbor's yard, one car behind it (they had collided but I couldn't tell that yet) and a mini van. About 6-8 cop cars, mostly unmarked, and most importantly 3 armed cops with bullet proof vests who rushed the crashed car with weapons drawn. There was yelling. There was a guy pulled out of the car onto the ground. There were guns to heads. It was insane. I totally ducked down behind the couch at one point because I didn't know what was about to go down.
Turns out this was the end of a police chase. Guy tried to get away from cops by driving across the neighbor's yard. One cop headed him off on the other side of the yard so the guy tried to go backwards. He crashed into the cop chasing him from behind. That left him pretty much screwed, crashed car and surrounded by cops. And that's when they rushed the car and carted him off.
Who knows if we'll ever find out why the guy was being chased. Maybe he was pulled over for running a stop sign and fled. But rumor has it drugs were pulled from the car. Whatever, he was taken away in cuffs really quickly. The cop who he hit was sent away in an ambulance but apparently just for observation. He wasn't shot, which was unclear for a bit. I have never seen that many cops in one place.
Yeah, way more excitement than I needed. And yeah, this was in Missouri, not Baltimore!
