Boston Day 4 (continued) - Salem and Gloucester

Ok, so after all the beer we decided to drive up the coast a bit and explore things outside of the city. At first we hadn't thought of this since we didn't rent a car, but Julie's friend had one so we took advantage.

First stop was Salem, where we took a witch trials tour. We were all kind of amazed that this was such a short period in history, and that so few people were actually killed. Yes, it was a really bad thing. People went crazy. But it seems like it's been blown way out of proportion. Especially compared to other witch trials. I wonder where my education failed on this one. I need to learn more though...and maybe study Europe's witch stuff more, because it seems more interesting.

Still, pretty good tour. Didn't find any witches. Other than the dead ones. They have a memorial to those killed which we visited. Also, I'd totally be on trial...not a very good Puritan.

After witches we went to Glocester. It was a lovely drive along the coast. There we just saw the beach for a few minutes and had dinner. Nothing too crazy. But it was good to see more of the world. And next time we'll plan better so we can go on a whale tour!

Oh! And that evening we finally had Boston Creme Pie! Our hotel was apparently the original pie maker, so that's some fun history. It was quite yummy.
