Nashville Part 2 - Belle Meade Mansion

After brunch we set off to the Belle Meade Mansion. Something southern and historic had to be visited, and they have a winery. The plantation used to be one of the premiere horse plantations. Lots of breeding and racing. There was a good story about a horse that basically all the recent Kentucky Derby winners came from.

Bullet holes from a Civil War battle that took place on the front lawn of the mansion. Maybe my favorite part of the tour.

Man, they loved their horses. They also made the hooves of one horse into ink wells so he was always with them in the study.

Sadly, they don't raise horses here anymore. So we saw straw horses in the stables. How'd the pig get in?

My play houses were not this cute.

It's not very often that I feel tall...but this door is super small!

There's no dead people here anymore, so disappointing.

I need this wine glass!

Ladies!
