A bit of a rant

I do not claim to know everything about children. There are parts of parenthood that terrify me. I'm sure I'll be just as bonkers as some of the parents I know. At least on my off days. But ya know, I do know a thing or two. I have experience! Really, there's been a few babies in my life, in addition to the 3 brothers I helped raise. Which is different that 100% parenthood commitment. But I can burp, change diapers, and scold. Oh the scolding.

So.

Do Not. Tell me "Oh you obviously don't know anything about children."

I know that if my kid were running his fingers across a chalkboard, JUST to piss me off? Say bye-bye to Mr. Chalkboard. And expect a punishment. I would not just go "Well, kids are shits, guess I'll deal with it."

Apparently me wanting to punish a child means I don't know shit? Because punishments don't work? Maybe for your kid, Lady. But I should have known better when you said "he's well on his way to being that dick all the girls talk about over wine."

Anyway, this has become an ever-increasing problem in my life. A few people appreciate my baby experience and want me to love their babies. Other people assume that just because I'm not a mom I couldn't possibly know a thing. And I mean 1 Thing. It's like, oh you haven't birthed a baby so how would you know how to burp one? Moms are becoming self-riotous holier than thou bitches. I give them kudos because I know being a mom is way more difficult than anything I've done. But don't diminish my knowing some shit.
