Asheville/Brewgrass Part 3

Finally, Saturday was the real reason we'd trekked all the way to Asheville, Brewgrass! 40 different breweries, 4 bluegrass bands. Couldn't ask for a better afternoon.

Well...maybe it could have been drier.

There was brunch and more wandering around the city. And it was raining, but never too bad. Light drizzle can be refreshing. But the forecast had gotten worse every day that week so I knew we were in for some crazy times. But when you pay and travel to a festival you don't skip.

So J. and I got in line at 12:30 and prepared for the long haul. The festival was from 1 to 7 and we were getting our fill of beer. At first the rain was fun. We laughed a lot and did a few little dances to warm up. Yoda helped us select some good beers.

Well actually, we tried a lot of bad beers. I dumped out so much beer! Which normally would make me cry, but with 40 breweries to check out, if I didn't like it, I didn't need to drink it. No sense getting wasted on bad beer.

And eventually I came up with a good system - try all the Ocktoberfest and Pumpkins and other fall varieties but not the regular brews. This was a wise decision. I had a lot of good beer then!

And I was a happy gal. I was getting very wet, but the beer helped.

And that's pretty much what happened the rest of the day. We drank. We got wet. And eventually wet was not fun anymore.

I had to resort to double fisting.

I think we made it close to 4 hours in the rain before we gave up. I was wet down to my bones. And it was getting cold. And waiting in the rain for the bus sucked a lot. But despite how miserable the rain was we had an awesome day. But I spent a lot of time in a warm shower when we got back to the hotel. And I took and awesome nap. And then had pizza. And slept some more.
