There's not a lot to say about the first day in Boston. We arrived early evening and got situation in our hotel. Then we just wandered around to explore but really to find food.
Our hotel was right around the corner from the Boston Commons so we went there first. I would spend oh so much time here just lying in the grass, soaking in the sun, if I lived anywhere nearby. We wandered about a public garden and found water fowl. Dinner was just a simple sandwich shop, but it was yummy. We saw a memorial to the Boston bombings and a mustache car.

Washington still loves the Bruins |

Not the bombing site, but the right street...memorial. |

The waiter said "This one's wicked good". Yep, we have arrived. |
And then our wanderings took us to the pre-July 4th festivities. There was music and cannons being shot off. But no fireworks until the next day. Note: don't sit close to cannons. Especially if you don't know they're going to go off. It's loud. And scary. But we did get to watch a lovely sunset over the Charles River.
