Playing with Clay

Yeah, does anyone remember my thing with touch? It's my favorite of all the senses. I officially discovered this my first semester of grad school, where each week we had a different sense to explore. I touched a lot of stuff that semester. Including some intimate time with a ball of clay. How had I forgotten how much I love clay? (and mud...oh gosh I love mud)

Anyway, some gals and I took a pottery class last week. I would never have come out with anything if it weren't for a great instructor. She had no problem just moving my hands where they needed to be, which is good because apparently I don't understand direction. And her husband fixed my bowl when I went down too far and punched a hole right through the bottom. Woops. We all laughed at my desire to just keep playing with the ball of clay on the wheel, rather than make anything. It's awesome! But it is much cooler that I actually made a bowl. Not a vase like I wanted, I gave up. But still, great times. More pics when I go back to glaze it.

That looks like so much fun! And yes, mud is totally fun.
