Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I suddenly feel like I have a lot to say, but I really don't. Just these few things:

1. I wonder if Jane would be understanding if I told her I was taking part in the writer's strike. Not the one in Hollywood, but the Novelists Strike.

2. One of my favorite authors, Jodi Picoult was interviewed on D.C 101 this morning. Go to Eliot in the Morning to listen.

3. In honor of St. Patty's Day, I am at home drinking beer and possibly writing poems about Ireland. I did not celebrate appropriately this weekend for reasons I have not yet determined. And since I will be needing to work in the morning, I can't really do much tonight. But, here are some great photos from Ireland. Oh I want to go back!

I really want to go to Ireland very badly. The only time I've been out of the country was to go to Canada, and that doesn't really count. I actually apparently have family there. It was my great-grandfather and great-grandmother who came over from Ireland. My grandfather went to Ireland about a decade ago to visit with the part of the family that still lives there. They have a farm. My grandfather still talks about the trip, but all he ever really talks about is the smell of peat and the more colorful language.

I want to go. I like castles. I like old buildings. I like churches and cathedrals. And these pictures look gorgeous.

Is the second picture of the Cliffs of Moher? I was there about two years ago...Did you go? It was amazing..especially the part where you could just fall off the cliff at any given time because there were no railings!

Yes, those are the cliffs. I was also there about 2 years ago, May of 06.

Ireland is amazing!
